My Journey as an author: From Busia to the World

Welcome, readers, to my official website! It feels surreal to finally have a space where I can share my work and thoughts directly with you. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kibirige Desire Edward, and I'm a writer—a poet, novelist, and storyteller who's been weaving tales since I was a boy in Busia, a small town that holds a big place in my heart.

Busia wasn't just my birthplace; it was the birthplace of my imagination. It was in its quiet corners and bustling streets that the seeds of my first stories were sown. My parents, Kalule Peter and Tukahirwa Naume, were businesspeople, and while their world was one of commerce, they unknowingly created a world of creativity for me. They taught me the value of hard work, but they also gave me the freedom to dream, to read, and to write.

I’ve always believed that every writer's journey begins with a single word, and for me, that word was "why." Why are things the way they are? Why do people feel what they feel? Why does a single moment in time hold so much weight? These questions led me to poetry, to the art of capturing complex emotions in a few lines. They pushed me to write "Bard Diaries," a collection that poured out my soul and marked my first real step into the literary world.

From there, the journey has been a whirlwind. I've explored the depths of love and loss in "The Space Between Us" and "Love's Destination." I’ve grappled with life's big questions in "When I Meet My Death." And I've always returned to my roots, celebrating the beauty of my homeland in works like "The Pearl."

This website is more than just a portfolio of my work. It's an invitation to you—to join me on this journey. Here, I'll be sharing articles, new poems, excerpts from my upcoming works, and personal reflections on the writing process. I hope this becomes a place for us to connect, to discuss stories, and to explore the power of words together.

Thank you for being here. I can't wait to share what's next.
